OpCritical is a response to the critical state of America and the world today. Their music,
lyrics, and videos are a mirror of the monster before us, the Demogorgon, which can and
will destroy everything in its wake unless there is a powerful citizen operation to push back.
The members of the band are not important but the message of their music is. Intense,
immediate, raw, and emotional, it is meant to inspire people to get off the couch and
protect their fundamental rights.
Their newest single and music video, “USA”, released on March 20, 2026, presents as a
powerful follow up to their debut, “Not Alone”, which went viral on YouTube with over 600k
views and has been played across hundreds of radio stations worldwide. “USA” continues
on with the band’s core message: a rallying to people across the country to stand together
to reclaim democracy and decency in America.
The lyrics of “USA” describes the country’s current state of being – “We’re living in a crazy
place, don’t like what I see, what a disgrace, black is white, up is down, it’s all in my face…”
But that observation is tempered with hopeful calls to “rise up, fight back, wake up, act up,
and stand up so we can find our way back.” In this way, the song and the video harken back
to protest songs of the past pointing out injustices while demanding action. This time
around, OpCritical hooks today’s audiences with multigenre shifts from rock to trap to
punk,and a cool female voice singing an Arabic melody overlaid with a call to action: “Gotta
gotta say it, say it right now. Gotta gotta do it, do it right now.”
“American citizens are confused and afraid from all the turmoil they see in their daily lives,
but together, they can unite to reclaim their humanity and country,” says OpCritical.“USA
is meant to show every American that together there is a better way forward.”
